How it works

- Discuss the design, estimate pricing, schedule consultation or tattoo appointment.
- Tattoo day!! Make sure you’re hydrated and you bring snacks! *we also have a vending machine if you forget! Express any concerns you may have with your artist. Go over any design changes. Enjoy your tattoo session. We offer free touch ups, up to 90 days after time of service.
Tattoo aftercare
Follow these steps to help your new tattoo heal clean and bright. If you have any questions or issues, message your artist or The Ink Shop Facebook page.
Bandage time
- Second skin: leave on 2–5 days. Remove gently under running water. If it peels back and exposes the tattoo, remove it immediately.
- Traditional heal: remove the bandage in 4–8 hours.
Wash
- Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.
- Wash with Dial Gold antibacterial soap using your hands only — no washcloths.
- Wash 2–3 times daily for 4–6 days after the bandage is removed.
Dry
- Pat dry with a paper towel or let air dry.
- Avoid fabric towels, which can harbor bacteria and snag the skin.
Moisturize
- Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion once the tattoo is dry.
- Moisturize 2–3 times daily for 2 weeks.
Protect
- Wear loose clothing to avoid rubbing.
- Cover your tattoo if you are working in a dirty or dusty environment.
Avoid
- No swimming, bathtubs, or sun tanning for at least 2 weeks.
- Do not pick or itch your tattoo. It is normal for it to itch or scab.
